Q5. Can I make up my own package?
A5. Order a basic package and then buy add-ons to come up with your needs.
Q6. What do I wear?
A6. Classic styles in solid colors are what photograph best. Avoid bold and busy patterns that would detract from facial expression.

A11. If you are not satisfied with your proofs, you are welcome to schedule another appointment to retake your portraits. Please bring your proofs to your appointment so that our photographer can review your concerns.
Q12. I’ve seen new “picture stores” in malls and shopping centers that offer digital imaging enhancements. Why should I prefer school pictures over the new picture providers?
A12. For lots of reasons. Most importantly, school pictures are best at capturing memories of one of the most central aspects of a child’s life: school days with best friends and favorite teachers. You can’t beat the cost or convenience of a single purchase transaction done at home. Also, school pictures are taken by “pros” who strike the right balance among price, quality and creativity.
Q13. Are there any other benefits to school pictures?
A13. In awarding its photography contract to a professional photographer, the school also receives valuable services such as photos-of-record for the school office, yearbook images, student ID cards and related imaging services. And here’s a little-known benefit: A portion of the proceeds from all pictures ordered reverts to the school. This means that school picture purchases help support the local school.
Q14. How much do these new types of pictures cost?
A14. Prices will vary among products and photographers. But generally they reflect the economical pricing structure of traditional school pictures. When you add in convenience, support for local schools and the other benefits, the value of school pictures surpasses that of any other picture option.
Q15. Traditional school pictures have been part of the student experience for a century. Is there anything new to say about them?
A15. Plenty. Thanks to digital imaging techniques and school photographers more attuned to customers’ needs, school pictures today can be as timeless as tradition yet as timely as the latest high-tech trends.
Q16. Don’t school photographers just take one or two shots of a standard pose and limit selection to various sizes of the selected picture?
A16. What was once the rule is now increasingly the exception. More school photographers today let students strike more poses. And more of them offer students and their parents an appealing variety of picture options.
Q17. What kinds of picture options?
A17. Imaging enhancements can include digitized backgrounds, color treatments, text, graphics and frames. Students can order a themed portrait related to a school activity or achievement. School pictures can be incorporated into key chains, bookmarks and coffee mugs, and appear on souvenir mock magazine covers. And then there’s the memory-rich classroom portrait.
Q18. Does the addition of all these picture options complicate the process for the parent or child?
A18. Unless the student requests an optional second sitting, there are no added requirements. The new picture options can be viewed and selected as part of the standard ordering transaction when the picture order form arrives home with the student.
Q19. How do I ensure that I’ll be able to have school pictures of my child that are as creative and exciting as you describe?
A19. You might consider contacting your child’s school and encouraging leaders there to select a school photographer who offers the widest variety of pictures and options. Then be sure to carefully read the picture ordering information included in the picture package that is sent home with your child.
